Goodbye Sahara.

The LA Times reported today that, The Sahara resort casino in Las Vegas will be shuttered. Sam Nazarian, an L.A. night club mogul, and owner admits defeat. Nazarian, planned to bring back The Sahara to its original glory, and now admits defeat due to the recession.
The Sahara once was the playground of Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and was home to the Rat Pack.

The north end of the Las Vegas strip will now look like a battered warzone. With many large empty plots where once stood some of the great casino hotels, that made Vegas famous. Mega skeleton buildings neighboring the soon to be shuttered Sahara, all projects that were shut down due to financing.

All that is left of the north end of the strip, is the old Circus Circus, and my least favorite and dirtiest of all the mega casino's, The Stratosphere.

The Sahara will be closing it's doors May 16th 20011. Goodbye Sahara, goodbye 6lb burrito.
